We are privileged to steward this small piece of the Wenatchee National Forest. We recognize that we are but the most recent of centuries of care takers for this land. From forest management to fire mitigation and training CAMREC takes this privileged to be part of this sacred space.

Planning for a Healthier Creek
One of the ways Camp CAMREC seeks to care for God’s creation is by restoring the natural health of our forests, wetlands, and streams. We’re excited to be working with the Cascadia Conservation District to explore opportunities for improving the creek and wetland areas on our property.
Recently, the Conservation District shared a conceptual restoration map highlighting several possibilities, including establishing a 50-foot native planting buffer along portions of the creek, restoring a wetland currently dominated by invasive reed canary grass, and adding habitat structures to support fish and wildlife. The map is an early draft intended to help visualize what could be possible, and the project will continue to evolve as planning and funding opportunities develop.
The Conservation District has also provided detailed aerial imagery of the camp that will help us better understand our landscape and make informed stewardship decisions for years to come.

While these restoration efforts are still in the planning stages, we’re encouraged by the opportunity to partner with organizations that share our commitment to caring for the land. Healthy streams, thriving wetlands, and diverse native habitats not only benefit wildlife but also enrich the experience of every camper and guest who visits Camp CAMREC.
We look forward to sharing updates as this exciting project takes shape. Together, we can continue caring for this special place so that future generations can experience the beauty of God’s creation.
